How it Works
Low-moisture encapsulation, explained.

How does low-moisture encapsulation work?
Most carpet cleaning programs rely on water to flush soil out of the fiber. The problem is that high pressure water also drives soil deeper, extends dry times, and leaves behind residue that attracts more dirt. While heat can damage the fibers and adhesives over time when used frequently. Low-moisture encapsulation works differently. Whittaker's encapsulation chemistry surrounds soil particles in a crystalline structure instead of flushing them with water. The crystallized soil releases during the next vacuum pass, leaving the fiber clean without saturating it. Carpets dry in 30-60 minutes. Cleaning happens during the day, in occupied spaces, without fans running down the hallway or areas being blocked off. It contributes to higher rate of soil recovery during vacuuming and longer carpet life, all while minimizing downtime to your facility and keeping your carpets appearance like new for longer.

What happens to your carpet between cleans?
Encapsulation is not a replacement for vacuuming or extraction. It is the step most programs are missing in between. Think of it as three steps that each do a distinct job. Vacuuming removes dry surface soil before it gets ground into the fiber. Encapsulation maintains the appearance and recovers the soil that vacuuming leaves behind, keeping carpet appearance looking consistent without the disruption of a deep clean.. Extraction resets the carpet periodically when deeper intervention is needed. Most facilities are running two of the three steps. The middle one is where carpets age, complaints build up, and results feel inconsistent no matter how much effort goes in. Adding encapsulation to a regular schedule is what closes that gap.

“In August 2022, I bought a Whittaker 20-inch CRB and I’m convinced it’s the best on the market! My customers are blown away by its performance, especially when they have pets. It’s crazy how much hair it collects. Customer will vacuum b4 I come. I still find hair and other stuff in the carpet. I clean my machine after every job, which is super important. I spray water on the undercarriage and on top and side and wipe them down in 15 seconds to get ready for the next job. I also take the brushes off after each use. I reached out to Whittaker to ask about getting my CRB serviced. Andrew was amazing to deal with. He’s honest and straight up about what needs to be done to keep my machine running. I can easily see myself chatting with him for hours. Every year, I’ll have my machine serviced, and I only want Andrew to work on it. Thank you Whittaker Team!!”
